Cone Flower #2

Oil on 6"x6" canvas panel

Here is #2 in a series of four...I am not sure if I will have all four of the background colors be the same, or if it should be different on the last two...

Cone Flower

Oil on 6"x6" canvas panel

I just loved how these turned out! They were loads of fun to paint too.
I think I am going to work on several of these flowers over the next few days. Wouldn't they would look great hung in a grouping.

Antique Fan

Oil on 6"x6" canvas panel

We found this old fan at an antique store several years ago.
It is pretty heavy too. I bet in it's day it really put out a breeze.

Black Chair

Oil on 6"x6" stretched canvas

When I first painted this, the background was way too dark.
I went back and worked on the background and it made all the difference. Now you can see the dishes better...

Asiatic Lilly

Oil on 6"x6" canvas panel

I have been quiet the past few days, but have
been painting up a storm. Sometimes a groove comes
alongs and you just don't want to stop for anything.
It seems like during that time, I don't sleep very
well becuase my mind in still painting. It will catch
up with me in a day or two and I will crash :0)

Good Friday

MERCIFUL and Everlasting God, Who has not spared your only Son, but delivered Him up for us all, that He might bear our sins upon the Cross: Grant that our hearts may be so fixed with steadfast faith in Him that we may not fear the power of any adversaries; through the same Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord. Amen.

Winter Tree

Acrylic 6"x12" stretched canvas

The time is near when the trees will be budding out,
so I thought I would get in a last minute winter
tree painting..

Face Off

Acrylic on 6"x12" stretched canvas

The title of this painting, as well as the inspiration,
comes from discussions I have had in the past with
my husband and mother as to if one light bulb is better
than the other~~I did a test and now I know :0)

Orange Vase

Oil on 6"x6" canvas panel

The vase in this painting has lots of texture to it
because I used a palette knife. The orange and blue
turned out nicely together..

Paisley

Oil on 6"x6" stretched canvas

I found this paisley cloth on a shopping trip
with my friend the other day and I just couldn't
pass it up. I also found a large piece of pottery
that I look forward to working into a painting.
We had a wonderful time together and I look
forward to going again soon..

Zarah

Oil on 12"x24" stretched canvas

It is very rare that when I finish a painting that I love every aspect of it, but this painting is one of those~~
It is even more stunning in person. This women will capture your attention and
suddenly you find yourself lost in a glimps of what is going on in her life...I hope that you will like it as much as I do...

Keira

Oil on 11"x14" stretched canvas

I have been working on a few portrait paintings the
past few days. I loved the scarf and headband on this
lady. Colorful but at the same time earthy...

Daffy

Oil on 6"x6" canvas panel

My neighbor had these cute little daffodils
coming up in his yard the other day. I spotted
them out my kitchen window and meant to get them
then but I forgot to and that night we had a
snow storm come through and covered the ground with
a few inches or so. When the snow melted, I saw that
these little guys survived so I ran out and snipped
a few :0)

Tulips on Top

Oil on 6"x6" gallery stretched canvas

I was so pleased with the way these turned out~
I am bad about using too many brush strokes, and these strokes came out and I left them alone...

Looking Up

Oil on 6"x6" gallery stretched canvas

I had painted a larger tree similar to this one
several days ago, so I decided to see what the
smaller version would look like...I think in
the future, I may try some of these in the
different seasons.

Curtains

Oil on 6"x6" stretched canvas

I can't remeber if I mentioned this before,
but when I use stretched canvas, I always use
the gallery stretched, which means no staples on
the sides. It allows you to hang or display without
a frame but at the same time, if you desire to frame
them, you can...This painting was done in very loose
brush strokes giving it a dimensional look..

Painting white is such a hard thing for me~~
I will keep practicing though as I do want
to get the right tone. I did like the way
the cherries turned out though :0)
